CJMQR Editorial Board Responsibilities
1. Manuscript Management
-
Conduct initial assessment of submitted manuscripts for scope, originality, and scientific quality.

Assign qualified peer reviewers and monitor timely completion of reviews.

Evaluate reviewer feedback and provide evidence-based recommendations (accept, revise, reject) to the Editor-in-Chief (EIC).

Ensure adherence to journal policies, review integrity, and timely communication among authors, reviewers, and editors.
2. Editorial Decision-Making

Ensure balanced, fair, and policy-aligned recommendations throughout the editorial process.

Collaborate with the EIC and other board members on complex or borderline decisions.

Uphold consistency and transparency in decision-making to maintain the journal’s reputation and credibility.
3. Quality Assurance and Ethical Standards
-
Maintain high academic, scientific, and ethical standards in manuscript evaluation.

Identify and address ethical issues such as plagiarism, data manipulation, and conflicts of interest.

Verify formatting, completeness, and compliance with journal submission guidelines.

Oversee minor technical editing, figure quality, and reference accuracy prior to publication.
4. Editorial Process and Administrative Coordination

Manage and oversee manuscript tracking systems to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.

Prepare and coordinate editorial correspondence, reviewer invitations, decision letters, and progress reports.

Maintain records of reviewer activity, performance, and turnaround times.

Assist in meeting preparation, special issue coordination, and report generation.
5. Community Engagement and Outreach
-
Promote the journal across academic, professional, and research networks.

Encourage high-quality submissions from emerging and leading scholars.

Support the journal’s outreach through social media, newsletters, and other promotional platforms.

Expand the readership and contributor base through proactive engagement initiatives.
6. Strategic and Developmental Contributions
-
Participate actively in editorial board meetings and strategic planning sessions.

Contribute ideas for thematic issues, new sections, and special topics aligned with the journal’s vision.

Provide insights to enhance journal visibility, impact, and scholarly contribution.
Reviewer (Peer Reviewer / Referee): Key Responsibilities
- Manuscript Evaluation:
- Critically assess scientific rigor, originality, clarity, and contribution to the field.
- Provide detailed, evidence-based, and respectful feedback to authors.
- Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection, with justification.
- Ethical Oversight:
- Identify potential plagiarism, duplicate publication, or ethical concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality and objectivity throughout the process.
- Professional Conduct:
- Complete reviews within agreed deadlines.
- Decline reviews outside one’s expertise or when conflicts of interest exist.
- Serve as an ambassador of the journal’s standards.
